Tracy Todd
Tracy Todd is an accomplished writer and author, having dabbled in everything from short stories to business books. With a series of published short stories and novels, her work has also featured in Indigo Dreams, Hammond House and Mslexia, as well as various compilations. One of her novels, Unscanned, was longlisted for Mslexia’s Novel Competition.
The Apex Agenda was well received by the Penguin Random House Write Now Competition. From a pool of 1,700 applicants, Tracy was one of the 150 writers invited to attend a workshop in Nottingham. It was also short-listed in 2025 for the Mslexia Children’s and Young Adult’s Competition. Tracy has also co-written a TV script based on the book with Script Writer, D. Scott-Jones. It was one of the finalists for the Roadmap Writers To Tier Competition, 2026.
She has also written a short radio play submitted it to Hammond House International Literary Competition, 2026.
Outside of writing, Tracy runs a non-profit social enterprise, The Equality Practice, which promotes the idea that everyone, independent of their gender, age, background or personal circumstances, should have the opportunity to thrive and live a life that is fulfilling and meaningful to them. Since 2016, The Equality Practice has worked on projects, conferences and programmes that promote inclusion, value, respect and belonging. Tracy also has a Master’s in Creative Writing.
Current Projects
Tracy is working on three series of novels and a standalone book:
The Unscanned Series
The Unscanned Series is a dystopian, adventure novel set in the near future. The earth has scarce resources and now, immigrants are evicted and those who do not contribute are forced into compounds. Adam is a 14 year old Downer, unaware of the world outside, until he is captured and sold to a children's home. This is when his safe existence changes. Nothing will ever be the same again.
The Apex Agenda Series
The Apex Agenda is a dystopian fantasy sci-fi thriller set 200 years in the future. Attempting to create the perfect human through gene manipulation, scientists nearly wiped out the human race. It resulted in delayed development of humans. At puberty, the Change. Until then, children do not have a gender. A rare few don’t develop a sexual differentiation at all. They are the Ungendered and condemned to life incarceration. Cam is Ungendered. She and her best friend Liddy escape to the Resistance and only then discover the Apexes – Ungendered who develop supernatural powers.
George is Leaking
George is nearly thirteen when he starts leaking. No one knows why! The Space Agency comes to the rescue, providing him with a futuristic astronaut suit. It gives him non-human strength and other abilities. It also has an artificial intelligence system which protects him – Will, who becomes his best friend. When the Space Agency decide to reset the system to default, George will lose Will unless he does something about it.
Switched (under development)
Switched is set in today's society. Harley is coming home from school one day when he is switched, entering a parallel world in which everything initially looks the same, until he meets Quelan, who explains the division and how the barrier between their worlds is breaking down. Magic is a living force in Quelan's world and Harley needs to learn how to survive in it and return to his own side of the barrier before he is discovered for what he truly is.

The Apex Agenda

Escaping capture, they join a covert network, which opposes the strict gender and purity laws, and welcomes difference. There, Cam meets Tom. As their bond strengthens and her latent talents emerge, her true heritage and the extent of her powers are revealed.
The resistance claims Cam as their own, but has she escaped one form of oppression only to find she's no longer free to decide her own path?

Unscanned
Adam has been protected from the real world by an underground, subversive group hidden from society, until the day he is kidnapped and sold to a Non-Contributors Home for Kids. As the days go by and the punishments increase, Adam desperately seeks a way to escape. He knows if he is found to be unlawful, he will never see his home or his mother again.
Then, late one night, hiding from Puke-Face, the obnoxious night warden, he accidentally discovers a way out. Instinct tells him to flee, he may never get another chance, but can he leave the other kids behind.

The Upsider
The Upsider: Book 3 in the Unscanned Series
Whilst out on a mission, Adam is captured and sold to an adult compound. He finds a world of enforced happiness and health. But the peace is a lie. Identities are stripped away, leaving the residents as hollow vessels trapped inside a dark conspiracy.
After a violent reaction purges his system, the fog lifts. Adam is finally awake and ready to fight back. But when Francy is taken for a ‘health check’ from which no one ever returns, he knows time is running out.
The gates are locked. The guards are armed. In the Compound, the most dangerous thing you can be is yourself.
